Hi, I’m Laura

Empath. Intuitive. Coach. Counselor. Mom. Wife. Business Owner.

I have been an intuitive empath for as long as I can remember. As a little kid, I would have dreams of births and deaths…totally freaking my parents out when I would beg to go say goodbye to a relative that was about to pass. My Mom’s canned response was “Quit being so morbid, they are fine.” Usually, they would transition in a week or two. Eventually, I just quit saying anything and accepted it was coming. Then, in high school, an old friend of my moms came to live with us. A psychic by trade, he immediately recognized my intuition and helped me hone and practice my skills. I realized I was not wired like others, and attempted to hide it. I say attempted because I am a pretty open read and anyone who knows me for five minutes, figures out that I don’t think like other people. That being said, I never really explained it to people, never really owned it…especially at work. Despite being dressed professionally, my curly hair, preference for bright colors, and love of live music earned me the reputation of being a “hippie” by most of my colleagues. If I disclosed that I was also intuitive, my fear was that my professional credibility would completely go out the window. I did not want to seem to “woo-woo” and have my work discredited. After years of pretending with those that did not know me well, I decided I was done. I needed to own it and own it I did! I decided that I needed a more holistic practice. At the time, I was working for a large corporation and went to the owner and asked about opening a holistic division. I explained that I wanted to open an office in an acupuncture office and utilize spirituality. His response was “Okay, we can try it, but no voodoo.” After I promised not to do any blood sacrifices, I began to make plans for worst fears realized! Eventually, we parted ways because our ideas of a holistic practice were quite different. (IMAGINE THAT!) I decided I needed to create an authentic practice that supported me...as an empath, intuit, and Mom. I now have a practice I LOVE and I want you to as well!

I am passionate about helping other empathic therapists! Here’s why:

When I worked for an agency and corporation, they wanted me to see 32 clients a week. I was stressed, overwhelmed, and felt like I was dropping the ball CONSTANTLY! I never felt good enough. I decided there had to be a better way.

As a newbie, empathic therapist, I met with my supervisor regarding a case where I had teared up in session. I asked, "How do you handle it when you tear up in a session?" She said: "You don't. You toughen up, or you need to get out of the field." SAY WHAT!??!

I started a private practice and was told by peers you have to see at least 25 clients and take insurance, or you won't make it. Instead, I designed it to work for my authentic, empathic, highly sensitive, and intuitive nature. I see between 15-20 clients and make a decent living!

My Approach

Whether you are just starting out in private practice or you have been at it a while, we can all use help with getting our business in alignment with who we are as not just counselors, but human beings. As a coach, I take a person-centered approach to help you get get the business you want. I am gentle but realistic and combines those traits in a way that my coaching clients can feel.

I want therapists to be able to own their empathic, intuitive nature and do their best work with clients. I want you to really be able to say to a client, you know, you sound like an intuitive empath…without feeling like you are going to lose your professional license…or have your boss say it sounds like you are doing voodoo! I want you to own your truth and have a private practice that feels good to you!

Normalize the 20% of us that are Highly Sensitive people

Look, a good portion of Highly Senistive People, and we go into business and need to take extra care that we don’t get burnt out. The way we were taught to do business in grad school, well it was not good for us. I want to teach you how to have a business that works for you…not that you are working for.
